The ToBeReaL project is designed to empower bioeconomy projects by offering strategic support across four key verticals:

  • Business & Financial
  • Regulatory & Legal
  • and Social Innovation.

The project has five specific objectives (SO).

SO1: Identify and Address Barriers & Needs in Bioeconomy Projects
  • Identify technological barriers affecting bio-based industries.
  • Evaluate market demand, end-user perception, and product availability across value chains.
  • Analyse regulatory and legal hurdles limiting innovation and commercialization.
  • Map funding opportunities (private and public) for bioeconomy projects.
  • Incorporate social innovation strategies for wider adoption of bio-based solutions.
  • Extract best practices from successful bioeconomy cases in underdeveloped EU regions.

  • Offer Technical, Business & Financial, Regulatory & Legal, and Social assistance tailored to the needs of bioeconomy projects.
  • Develop internal protocols and guidelines for project assessment, selection, and execution.
  • Co-create a specialized service portfolio to address project-specific needs at different Readiness Levels (TRL, BRL, RRL, SRL) and enable their feasibility and scalability.

  • Organize one-on-one mentoring sessions to help projects navigate funding, regulatory, and market challenges.
  • Prioritize support for projects in regions where bioeconomy is currently underdeveloped to foster wider adoption.

  • Leverage synergies with past and ongoing bioeconomy research projects to maximize impact.
